Travelling South
Time to head home, the van loaded we were at McLeans Highland Bakery for breakfast around 7:20am. We all have our favourites, mine are from my ‘Navy Days’ serving in Scotland; ‘Jock Pies’, an unusual choice for breakfast but I enjoy them.
Having said our “cheerios” to Joshua and Tiana we were on the road at 07:55. First stop after 4 hours Annandale Water then on to Tim Hortons, a further 4 hours, off the motorway at Oldbury, for a late lunch. Fast food but slightly better than the usual suspects.
Then 3 hours on to our third and final stop at Taunton Dean, coffee only. The last leg was an endurance test, my bum was numb, Paddy restless, growing dark and raining but we arrived outside the house at a little after 10:30pm, 14.5 hours after we set off.
A long journey but well worth the effort.
Today’s photo was taken yesterday, four adults, three dogs, another good day that will remain long in the memory.
