Solo jig

Yesterday I was booked to play for the evening ceilidh for the Sandbach Day of Dance where various morris sides dance around the town.

I went for the afternoon too as I enjoy watching the dancing being an ex morris dancer. By the time I got there, the rain was heavy and constant so the outdoor dancing was cancelled and it transferred to the church hall.

There were various types of dancing including this man doing a solo jig.

I I had brought a sandwich and flask to have before the evening and had them sitting in my car. While I was eating, nine police cars and a van arrived and they all gathered in the rain (extra). They were still arriving when I left for the hall. The police station was round the corner so assume that it was some sort of training. I would have loved to stay and find out!

The evening ceilidh went well, they must have had lots of energy to dance all day and then all evening.
