I’m in Plymouth
And this is the Hoe. I came down on a mid morning train. Son and I headed out for a walk, the rain began as we left the house. It was a pretty heavy deluge so we ducked into the nearest place to eat which happened to be a Premier Inn. It was perfectly nice I thought. Eventually the rain stopped and we walked west by the sea towards the Hoe. The first extra is a view across, taken just before the main one. It’s always lovely here.
In the evening I went by myself to see the Welsh National Opera at the Theatre Royal performing Peter Grimes by Benjamin Britten. An immense tragedy with wonderful music. They didn’t include it in their Bristol season this year so I was lucky to be able to come here. The second extra is of the curtain call at the end. What is particularly remarkable is the people wearing protest t shirts saying Don’t Cut The Chorus. Presumably there’s a risk they will be replaced by AI in the background:-( I hope their campaign succeeds. That really would be cold.
