The Star of the Show

We were invited to see the dance recital of Al and Shelley's granddaughter Sanibel. 42 dances with Sanibel being in 9 of them.

Being a crotchety old man, the music was a little too loud and a little too hip-hoppy, but the dancers were incredible...with Sanibel being the most incrediblest (?).

It was fun to hear Al and Shelley hooting and hollering, especially when Sanibel danced. She really is very good, striking and very fluid.

The picture was taken by their daughter Becky, who also was a dancer extraordinaire. Surrounding the star are Al and Shelley, Al's 2 sisters Sherry and Renee, and me and Lisa.

Way back when, Lisa was a dancer, and she remarked today at how much it has changed. A lot more choreography today, and a lot more athletic, almost gymnastic moves. Not much dancing up on the toes.

As much as I liked it...to see the excitement of both the kids and the spectators...one more complaint.

Every dance show has it, their own impression of the Rockettes. But, this one only lasted 10-12 seconds. C'MON, WE NEED MORE OF THAT HIGH-KICKING ACTION!

 A good day.

P.S. Shelley sent us this picture, so I am the 2nd blipper to use it this day.
