visions of chloe

Grasmere today

The top photo is of a rather fine restored boathouse. It was not easy to get the shot as there is very solid fencing around it. I carefully passed my phone through the small spaces in the fence and took the shot like that. I thought afterwards that I should have removed my cards first as I'd never have been able to get the phone back if I'd dropped it!
The other photo is of the National Trust property Allen Bank. Wordsworth hated how prominent it was on the fell. When he needed a larger house he relented a bit and rented it. However the chimneys smoked which allowed him to moan about it all over again.
I'm afraid he was a prime example of a young revolutionary who turned into a grumpy old man!
