Wow. What can I say..uplifting, inspiring, moving and a thought there may be hope for the future.
These amazing young people are members of the Watoto Choir, Watoto 'initiated as a response to the overwhelming number of orphaned and vulnerable children in Africa. It is positioned to rescue an individual, raise each one as a leader in their chosen sphere of life so that in turn, they will rebuild their nation.'
Based in Uganda where there are three villages/communities, all self supporting and sustaining, each choir member told their story. Orphaned, abandoned or child soldiers, one of the very young girls aged all of eight, spoke of when she was 'younger!' she and her siblings were orphaned when their mother died of AIDS.

An incredible couple of hours and while on a rainy, cold and damp evening the comfort of a snug fire at home with the telly, dinner and a glass of wine was very appealing, I am SO glad to have been there.

Baby Watoto is now in full swing caring for premature and abandoned infants, malnourished and abused babies and orphaned babies. A mere drop in the ocean of the Sub Saharan babies and children suffering every day (to say nothing of those in the rest of the world.)
But a start.
