The Liver Bird

We set off from Claygate, at about 9.30am this morning and drove to our Airbnb near Skelmersdale in Lancashire. Despite heavy traffic, we made good ground and arrived earlier than anticipated. Once we realised that we were only about 30 mins from Liverpool, we decided that it would be great to drive in and see the city. We’d both visited many years ago but only fleetingly.
We were very impressed by the city, in particular the Royal Albert Dock area (neither of us had ever been there) and the magnificent Liverpool Cathedral. We enjoyed our al fresco meal, in a café overlooking the Dock.
Once back at our Airbnb, we caught up with Race Across the World on iPlayer.
