Hollywood Studio's
Early start today to get to Down Town Disney to see the Virgin Rep to sort out our return. Booo.
We are booked to drop the cases off first thing and then leave slightly later than the others to the airport. This way we can avoid the check-in desk at the airport and go straight through security.
Next up we a shopping trip to the Disney store. A couple of tee shirts for Julie and me and a few things for the others as the 20% off vouchers ended today.
From there it was over to the Yacht club to get me some PJ bottoms before getting the boat over to Hollywood Studios.
Managed to get a fast pass for the Rocking Rollercoaster before having to go and meet the others. They were hoping to get a fast pass for Toy Story but arriving at 12.30 they had all gone. Surprise surprise. Will they ever learn?
From there it was the Backlot tour again with a couple of sulky kid and an even more hot and sulky sister-in-law.
A dragged out dinner and toilet break meant it was gone 3 when we went into the story of Walt’s life. A good exhibition and movie about his life and dreams.
From there it was a few character meets. I missed out on a photos with Mr Incredible as I was waiting in line so the kids could get a photo with wreck it Ralf.
After that it was another meeting with Micky to make sure we got all the family in the photo this time.
They rest of them went home while we stayed so we could use our fast pass for the roller coaster. Managed to get two trips on the Star Tours ride. Had to wait for the second ride, as someone was sick in the shuttle. Very embarrassing.
On the way in I noticed people getting their photo taken with Darth Vader and his Storm Troopers. Enquiring how I could get up there I was told that I was too old as it was only for under 13's. Its OK for me to meet Micky and the rest of the characters but apparently ageism exists where Darth is involved.
From there it was off tot he roller coaster followed immediately by another go on the Tower of TERROR. This time a different elevator. Happens that the ride is slightly different on each one. While in the cue for the roller coaster we were just in front of Colin Salmon for the Bond films. Played Charles Robinson the Chief of Staff In Die Another Day. Very tall bloke.
It was then time to meet Julie’s parents for dinner. While they got dinner sorted I went off to get my snack of Churrios in my R2D2 container.
It was then into see Fantasmic the water show where they project some of the Disney cartoons onto a sheet of water 20m high. Very good.
Great day apart from to being able to have my photo with Darth.
