Women’s Tour of Britain
Had to wait for a demonstration of the equipment for Richard. It should make life a lot easier for us both.
I didn’t have time to get up to Dalby to see the start of the Women’s stage one so walked round to see them approach the roundabout in Pickering. 110 riders set off from near the Visitor Centre before emerging onto the Whitby Road. Traffic was stopped earlier than necessary and was backed up on adjoining streets. They passed in a flash. Not sure if I caught the eventual winner (hopefully amongst the white shits on the right). The extra shows all the support vehicles following on. Once home I watched the rest of the race with the winning breakaway up the climb out of Castleton. The race finishing in Redcar.
Then a quick lunch to face chaos at York hospital car park. Thankfully patience paid off and we made the appointment unlike one lady arriving an hour late! Richard had a breathing assessment which took an hour but will provide a baseline for future tests. Needless to say he was exhausted.
