Flared Up Thursday

I have been far too absent yet again from the Bliposphere, my fibromyalgia has not been enjoying the damp spell we have had here and neither has my knee injury which is still very slow to recover.

I have been awake since 6am and had a very busy Thursday despite my higher chronic pain and fatigue levels. Pain brain is real! A very restful evening planned with my heat pad, wiped out.

I snapped this shot of a poppy I spotted by the roadside today. Managed to get a decent snap of it despite the rain.

I would be grateful if you could take a moment to read about my friend Maggi’s fundraiser for a project very close to her heart.

Maggi has decided to undertake essential renovations to her countryside home in order that she can offer it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat.

It is her dream for the winter years of her life - she is eighty two this year and sadly lost her son, my friend Richard, to sinus cancer in January of this year.

I was very sad to hear of his untimely passing as I have known him since I was primary school age and used to be playgroup practitioner to his two adult children, his wonderful son and daughter, now in their Twenties. He was only fifty two.

I would really appreciate it if you would read her story, she is a remarkably kind and compassionate woman who has supported many through various traumatic experiences and opened up her home to many including those who have fled domestic violence.

A kind neighbour and friend of hers has set up her crowdfunding page for her, she aided her to flee domestic violence many moons ago.

She is offering a weekend retreat in her beautiful, rural home in Penpont, Dumfries and Galloway which is the village in which I grew up for only £25.

She would be grateful for any contributions and anyone who donates £25 will be booked in for a weekend’s retreat at at time of their choosing.

For those who would like to support her in her ambitions to continue to offer her home as a therapeutic retreat for those in need of a slow paced break in a serene, countryside location, here  is her story:

She is a retired Social Worker and plans to spend the rest of her life working to support those in need, she is an inspirational woman :)

She has faced considerable tragedy with strength, resilience and courage.
