Just an Apple
I can’t think of anything clever or witty to say about an apple. Please don’t remind me that one a day keeps the doctor away or I might groan!
The apples at this time of the year look better than they taste. This is a Gala apple and is usually crisp and sweet, but right now all my favourites seem a little bland and floury.
One of my favourite autumn through the winter apples is the Topaz. It’s crisp with a slight tangy feel and full of character. Apples are my favourite fruit of all time, both raw and cooked or baked or in a delicious crumble.
I’m using my leaf decorated dish for this simple still life. The same one I held over my bright geranium plant a couple of days ago.
I’ve started to do lots of cleaning and tidying around the house to leave it in order before going on holiday next Tuesday. Why does the list of things to do seem never ending? Getting ready to go on holiday always stresses me a bit.
