Vintage Emporium!
Treasure trove of gems!
Fun trip planned but aborted
at food arrival :-/
So.. I thought I was clever and planned a day to be able to get jobs done and also have some social time.. life had other ideas as is often the way! I dropped Ben at school and zoomed home to have a call with my Dad, just checking in with all the stuff that's been going on with Ben. Then took the dog for a little walk and hot-footed it to the train station to pick up my mum to go for a mooch and some lunch at a yet-unexplored vintage warehouse near me. We were very entertained by the array of goods and also the other customers! We nearly purchased large busts of various heads, teapots, life size beefeaters, old ladybird children's books, mirrors and many tea sets! But we elected to have lunch before we made the final purchase decisions and just as the sandwiches hit the table my phone rang.. it was the school nurse saying that Ben was unwell. She sounded quite worried and unsettled so we packed the food up to go and went to see what was going on (the beefeaters will have to wait!) By the time we got there Ben was totally fine but I'd promised to take him home by that point so I had to stick to my word. He has historically had absence seizures and it sounds like it was another one, we know he has them at times of stress so it may be that all the talk of residential setting is triggering things a little bit, we'll have to see how he goes. He begged to go out with his carers at 3pm as they were supposed to pick him up from school and take him to the park, so I checked with them that they were comfortable and as they gave the go ahead, I dropped him off.. After that I caught up with Older Teen after one of his exams, walked the dog and fetched some dog food, caught up with Mr KCNQ2Haiku on his return from London and did some prep for a meeting tomorrow about Ben's placement. More eventful day than is preferred.. but happy we're all in one piece at the end of it :-)
