Clifton Tram Terminus

We'd had to go to Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham to collect a new sleep apnoea mask for Len. I had to do one circuit of the campus before finding the route to the main entrance. Chaos. Cars everywhere. Taxis parked waiting to take people home. And no parking!

I had dropped Len off to find his way in the hospital. He assured me he had been there before but I worried that he wouldn't be able to find his way back to the Main Entrance. At least two more circuits of the campus before getting back to the main entrance and I thought, Surely he must have collected his mask by now, so I parked behind a taxi. No sign of Len for at least 15 minutes.

I decided to abandon the car with Basil barking in the back leaving my hand bag and phone on the front passenger seat, and my car door ajar! I was lucky, they were all still there when I finally got back. It's not as if I'm Speedy Gonzalez. A very kind gent at the veg stall in front of the entrance helped me into reception and agreed to go to the clinic to try and find Len. He, and the receptionist exhorted me to go and speak to the parking supervisor or else I'd find myself with a parking ticket.

Back at the car, Basil still in one piece, and the phone rang. Len had actually remembered to bring his with him. I told him I'd drive round to the front.

We finally got off campus and on to the A453, deciding to take the quiet country route through Gotham and East Leake. The Clifton tram stop was en route where we stopped to let Len adjust his seat belt.

I was surprised to see two trams together at the station, and then a third one drew in. I learned from East Midlands News subsequently that a car had driven into a tram in the city and so there were disruptions to the tram service.

There is so much new housing at Clifton. Looks like social housing with row upon row of terraced housing. It used to be so lovely in that countryside. Similar works obviously going on near Kingston where the well-heeled have been objecting. NIMBY.
