Every silver lining has a cloud
After a deep sleep I had a slow day of tired legs and tired brain. I sorted out the 14 gigabytes (!) of video I took from the motorbike on holiday, and did some GPS track cataloguing, had an early lunch and sorted washing.
I also cleaned my leather motorbike boots. Even though the leather is oiled, they took a bit of a beating in Sunday's downpour and turned white as they dried out. I was always told this was the salt coming out of the leather, but the internet says it's the salt left behind as the water evaporates. Either way, I wiped it all off, warmed the leather and gave it a liberal two or three coats of Grangers beeswax, and they look shiny and fresh again now. Next time I'll try using some sort of dubbin and see if that works better. It was what you put on hiking boots when I was young, and I think boiled shins have been a traditional waterproofing agent for centuries. I suppose there must be a vegan alternative these days though (notwithstanding that globbing on a beeswax-based product isn't a vegan-approved approach either).
I had tea at Mum and Dad's, followed by the traditional slide show and map tracing, but came home for an early night.
The weather today has been barely ten degrees, breezy, and raining on and off. These socks that were a present from bestie seemed to suit the day!
