This not just any food…
I was on duty greeting cruise ship passengers (and anyone else) who came into the Town Church this morning so I popped into M&S for a take away iced latte. Luckily I snapped a pic of their cakes because I meant to also have a bacon roll to go with my coffee but forgot.
The cake look enormous but I imagine a slice is quite small; maybe even tiny so just about fits the challenge for Tiny Tuesday.
My iced latte had a straw in it so I chose ‘clutching at straws as my saying of the day…
From where does the phrase 'grasping at straws' come? It comes from a proverb in Thomas More's “Dialogue of Comfort Against Tribulation” (1534) which says, “A drowning man will clutch at straws.” It is said that the “straw” in this case refers to the sort of thin reeds that grow by the side of a river.
