Sgwarnog: In the Field

By sgwarnog

Depth

That time of year when the meadows and the moors seem to gain two or three feet of depth in a week.

That was certainly the case in the meadow in the park, which I hadn’t visited in ten days.  I was also sharing the meadow with what I assumed was a Leeds Uni student who was swiping the grass with a net and photographing/recording the results. He showed me a few things that he’d found - clearly more than my passive approach of walking and looking.

Also in the meadow, this Speckled Wood butterfly and a hoverfly, sharing an umbellifer.
