Last Day on Arran

We checked out of the hotel this morning, after a ‘mini’ Scottish breakfast. Too much of a good thing and all that!

Drove up through Corrie to Lochranza, then finding one of our favourite hotels closed in Catacol, we drove back to Brodick. We stopped at various points for walks, and so had 10,000 steps in the bag by then. We’d just sat down in The Douglas Hotel for lunch, knowing that our booking was on the 19.00 ferry. Plenty time for lunch and a read. No sooner had we sat down than Bb received a message on the ferry app saying to try and check in on the next ferry at 15.45 as there was a bad weather warning and our ferry might be cancelled! Luckily, he’d had the foresight to park the car in the ferry park, across from the Douglas. We stepped on it and got onto the 15.45 one. Sadly, it wasn’t the Glen Sannox, but the MV Alfred.

Anyway, we’re now safely in Edinburgh again, back at Dot’s and we’ve returned her car to her for its MOT tomorrow.

Another lovely day. Jean would have approved.
