A Lovely Day
Little Man had nursery this morning, after five days off (including the weekend). I had the morning to crack on and get things done around the house that are somewhat harder to do with a little boy under foot.
The staff sent a message out to the parents and carers, asking us to bring an empty carrier bag with us so that we could take our little one's projects home with us. My family tend to call me the bag lady as I have so many reusable shopping bags at home. So it was easy to put my hands on one. One of the things that kids have been working on is a Father's Day¹ gift. Since Little Man hasn't had much contract with his dad and his teachers know this, so they asked me who Ed could make his Father's Day gift for. I suggested that he make it for his Opa². My parents will be visiting for a few weeks in August, so my dad will be getting Little Man's gift then.
We had a lovely afternoon together. I've hidden the laptop to ensure that Little Man isn't glued to a screen all afternoon, especially with the weather being so lovely. It was about 20⁰C (68⁰F) at one point, so I managed to get some sand out the garage (from behind the crates of wood) and emptied it onto Little Man's spot in the garden. He spent a good amount of time playing (see the extra photo).
We also went for a walk, which Little Man wanted. He didn't want to go home and needed a bit of bribery, an ice lolly. We then had dinner and slowly got ready for bed.
¹Father's Day is on Sunday, 15th of June.
²Dutch: Grandfather.
