A Final Note From The Book Of Ruth
We gathered at FBC this morning under hazy blue skies, fully aware that summer had arrived in Central Texas, regardless of what our calendars tried to tell us. We were grateful for the cool place to join with other members of our church body and any visitors that chose to meet with us to thank God for the rain we got this week and offer up our praise and worship to Him because He is worthy! We began our service today with a lively congregational song with words straight out of Psalm 96 that we haven't sung in a long time. Pastor Wes gave the welcome, after which the choir, orchestra and all our dedicated accompanists presented the joyful anthem, "Ancient Of Days". After that, the congregation joined in a few more songs before Pastor Wes turned our attention to one last look at the over-arching theme of this book and why it is important to us today. From beginning to end, the book of Ruth shows that God is working through the lives of ordinary people doing the next right thing to accomplish His extraordinary goals that will have eternal repercussions for those who will accept His offer of salvation that was bought and fully paid for by the death of Jesus on the cross and sealed by His resurrection on the third day. God has never stopped working in all our lives. He works in the lives of unbelievers to give them opportunities to accept salvation and in the lives of believers to give them opportunities to share the good news of Jesus. Pastor Wes lays it all out clearly in the Live-stream which I urge you to watch and be inspired to be an ordinary person that God can use to accomplish extraordinary things!
