Nine Ladies
Not feeling 100% this morning, with (I think) allergy symptoms that I've not experienced in the last few years - possibly due to something I ate yesterday. Felt progressively better as the morning wore on, and by the time MrM had been to the surgery for a blood test, I was recovered enough for us to go down to Derbyshire as planned.
We spend an enjoyable afternoon walking on Stanton Moor in search of the Nine Ladies stone circle. According to legend, nine ladies were turned to stone as a punishment for dancing on a Sunday. A tenth stone (or King Stone), apparently nearby though we failed to find it, was the fiddler. Some lovely views of the surrounding countryside (extra) from the moor.
It would have been nice to stay on the moor a little longer, and maybe sample one of the local pubs, but we decided to go back in time for jazz club in Huddersfield, and to claim the pie and peas that we won in last week's raffle!
