June is bustin’ out all over………
…. but to be honest May was unfurling loveliness this year.
My Peonies, which were actually dug up from our son’s garden in Bristol when they moved up here in September 2021, but then all 6 of them had to live with us for two months after their house chain collapsed on the day they moved, are flowering again.
I planted them temporarily in our garden from the large bucket of soil in which they were transported, when it became obvious the move was delayed, and winter months were beckoning.
I dug a hole just big enough for their roots, and filled it with some fertiliser and good compost. Eventually cutting off the old foliage and hoped for the best.
When I saw new shoots beginning to appear through the soil in late Spring 2022, I was thrilled.
The peonies have stayed here as their garden needed a lot of work. Now they.have become a permanent feature.
I did ask about digging them up and moving them, but was pleased to be able to keep them. This year they look their best yet!
Apparently they don’t like being moved! In this case 100 miles! So I must have done something right!
Rest day today after my walk yesterday, and preparing for having the two oldest grandchildren for the morning tomorrow.
We went to our Birmingham Vineyard Church this morning. Love its multicultural feeling!
So June has arrived.
