Swan? Loch Ness Monster? Or Mere Candle Wax?…

… Swan. (Obvs).

Those who know me well would be surprised I didn’t opt for Loch Ness Monster but, come on. Sightings this year (as we all know) have been non existent (so far).

We have had a quiet ‘in-a-good-way’ day (apart from a visit from someone kind and lovely. And a phone call from a very favourite person).

Our plan had been to dress up (by which I mean don the more decent jeans) go out, and drift into any attractive eating place that would have us.
The reality is that we couldn’t be bothered (I blame the excess of excellent cake from the street market yesterday. What can you do Gladys, in the face of a massive home-baked cherry Bakewell flapjack?).

So we’re eating in tonight. Medjool dates cooked with pecans and cheese and pomegranate syrup will distract us while I ponder what’s in the store cupboard. (Not a lot unless you like last years mincemeat and ancient redcurrant jelly!).
