Well Women

We had a fantastic well day out in the wilds of West Cork yesterday (writing on Sunday too wrecked on Saturday night) with  group of six very multi-European women - one Scot, two English, one Irish and two Italians - almost like the Six Nations. I left home at 7.30am and crawled in at 7pm but it all went very well. This is Trinity Well - one I popped in at the last moment! Nine wells encountered plus a field of orchids, several minute roads ending in dead ends (luckily I wasn't driving only navigating - er), the square of blessed earth, a very early sort of Norman motte, some spectacular countryside and a rather marvellous grotto. We fell into Rosscarbery at around 2pm for lunch and all started off with good intentions asking for salads, then one of us decided on chips as well - it would have been rude not to follow her example, and oh boy, they were good! The sample bottles were put to good use, we didn't have to use the poop scoop and no sign of the BVM's knees (I do hope you've read the previous post before trying to work out this sentence).

I came home via Dunmanway which was hosting the Feel the Force Festival (Star Wars v Super Heroes apparently) - not a lot was going on but the chipper was doing well.

PS blip central, the fairies have been at my camera and the date is mysteriously a year in the past so I've had to fiddle!
