Just a Lighthouse ....

..... but taken especially for, and dedicated to, my friend Shelley (aka Naturelover) as I know she absolutely LOVES lighthouses.

This one, Shelley, is St Mary's Lighthouse near Whitley Bay, Northumberland, UK .......

Little people rock-pooling .....


This is truly a "snapshot" - I drove up, jumped out of the car (left the engine running), took three shots (without even thinking about the camera settings), jumped back in and drove off - it's slightly out of focus in parts but I really like the "atmosphere" I think it shows!

When I look at it I am reminded of the simple pleasures of holidays when I was a kid - flying a kite, rock-pooling, wandering along with Mum and Dad, having a picnic on the grass - no amusement arcades here!!

Today I have been out of the house for 18 hours and, for fourteen and a quarter of those, I have been driving - 697 miles in total ..... am I tired?? Surprisingly not - obviously there is life (and stamina) in the old dog yet!!!! Lol!!

Thanks for all the lovely comments and stars on my (shock, horror) post-processed alstroemerias yesterday ...... so pleased you liked them too!

I can hear a very cold beer calling my name - in fact I think it's a duet so there must be two of them ....... that's all folks!!!!
