A silly place...

...for a fireplace... No?...

Up the stairs at the Farrell Centre in Newcastle to see the exhibition "Concrete Dreams" - a project exploring the ways Tyneside was transformed during 1960s and 1970s - the T Dan Smith era that I remember! See extra for 3D model.

Old maps a-plenty on the top floor, and a great display of children's work.

Lower floor was a video compilation, again from the 60s and 70s, showing the development along the river, the Bigg Market, and the era of the supertankers. The highlight was a launch - amazing, the size of those ships!

A first visit for us, and to the Claremont Road tea rooms ;)

Metro back in time for lunch, then helped Sue & Richard shave a good lump off the bottom of a door following a new carpet fitting, and re-hang it - it's a heavy one.
