Words Change The World
We caught the train an hour and a half north to Woy Woy for Words on the Waves, a small local writers festival. The venues were two surf clubs and a marquee in the park. The organisers and volunteers were friendly, the audience lively. K was on a panel (extra) on poetry now. The convenor isn’t in the picture but she wore a Readers and Writers Against Genocide T-shirt. (It’s been an issue here, with writers’ appearances, fellowships etc cancelled due to pro-Gaza stances.) Afterwards people lined up to get their books signed by Maxine Beneba Clarke, me included.
A quiet one at the Bayview before the train home.
