Temperatures rising
Woke early so took hound for a walk just after 7am.
Headed early to the market. Temperature was already rising and the market place definitely felt warmer. Whizzed round getting what I required.
Headed to the Fitzwilliam Museum to see Rise Up: Resistance, Revolution, Abolition. The exhibition focused on the resistance of slaves and the black and white abolitionists from 1750 to 1850. We're not always informed about black abolitionists. Wilberforce is a name regularly associated with abolition of slavery. Many black abolitionists visited Cambridge University, Wisbech, Soham, St Ives and Ely and lectured on abolition of slavery.
It was thought provoking, inspiring and informative.
Extras - an early form of fair trade and boycotting was carried out.
In the afternoon visited my neighbour across the street, Jane Q. I returned her book Imperial Mud: The Fight for the Fens by James Boyce. We chatted about numerous subjects including the rise in awareness of the deaf, British Sign Language, lipreading which led us on to a discussion on special needs. A stimulating visit.
This week has gone fast.
Pleasant evening everyone.
