Bowood Woodland Gardens (Thursday 29th May 2025)
The tree surgeons were in the Woodland Garden all day, amongst other things transforming the view from my study window, where a self-seeded hazel had blocked the view of my maple leaves. They also removed some lower branches of my smoke tree whilst leaving its canopy over my table, displaying fine colours. My climbing rose was getting in the way of where I parked Buzz, so they fitted some trellis panels to tie the trimmed branches back to.
In the afternoon I left them to it and drove over to the Bowood Woodland Gardens for coffee and cake from the Nosh Box. I had a lemon curd blondie slice and discovered that when they close for the year on Sunday I will still be able to buy them because Sam and his wife also run the Village Shop in Lacock. I sat in the Jubilee Garden, where I took this blip and the two Extras.
I tested my APS-C 18-135mm lens in my full-frame Pentax, but found the vignetting made it only usable in crop mode.
