Greece Day 9
Today we visited a lovely island, not available to cruise ships, the quiet island of Kythera, lying opposite the south-eastern tip of the Peloponnese peninsula. We walked down the main corridor, up to the castle, and returned using the same path. Pictured are a group of locals enjoying the morning at the cafe. A second image from the main thoroughfare is an extra.
Another extra is our captain, a 77 year old Greek with hundreds of stories and a plethora of information about the sea and sailing the world. His idea of his one month holiday is to, go home (Athens) and do nothing for a week. Then, attach a small trailer to his car, and get on a ferry to Italy. Upon arrival, he asks his wife - turn left, or right. Each day, they do do the same thing as they travel the continent.
