On the road

Thank goodness I don't travel as frequently as I used to do, but just occasionally it's good to get out there. I was invited to come to a conference on individual autonomy and fundamental rights to speak on a roundtable on academic freedom. I couldn't get there for the beginning of the conference, but I enjoyed the roundtable.

Easy journey here on one of my least favourite airlines. The express airport bus dropped me very near my hotel. I sat in the foyer listening in to a Teams meeting before checking in. Yet another meeting with no substantive new information.....

Dinner with some colleagues right by the ELTE law faculty, which I first visited in about 1993 (I reckon). I thought I had been back more recently, but I cannot find a trace in my blips. Maybe I've just been past the outside of the building. I know I've been to at least three conferences in recent years in Budapest, as well as making some personal visits, one at Corvinus University, one at the Central European University (before it was largely chucked out of Budapest), and one at the Pázmány Péter Catholic University. One day I will go through all my archives figuring out a definitive timeline....
