Adding Colour

Having been introduced to water soluble pencils, I decided to try a couple of pictures in colour of scenes from my trip to the Netherlands in preparation for needle felting them. I enjoyed trying different approaches and the exercise made me think more about how I could recreate different effects using wool.

There were 5 of us today at the Sketching Group with a nice mix of chat (some art related, some not) and working in companionable silence.  It transpires that LN (a fellow swimmer and needle-felter as well as sketcher has also done step dancing classes at Sabhal Mòr - an interesting set of co-incidences).

The new artistic director was in the building but did not approach us for selfies this time ;-).

This afternoon was spent planting our more sunflower seedlings and inspired by their success sowing some beetroot seedling in the modules which will be kept in the greenhouse until ready for planting out. In previously years I have sown them outside to limited success so it will be interesting to see what difference this approach makes.
