My two lovely Physiotherapists
I had my very last Physio class this morning, for those of us who had hip operations this year. Mine was on March 7th.
These are the two lovely people, who give a lot of help, advice and support to those who attend. Not all of us were at the same point in time Post Op,
I was the only one leaving today, after my 4th and final, session.
I carry on with the exercises and also walking regularly.
Yesterday as I had to stay indoors all day to wait for a parcel which had to be signed for, I did my own “circuit training” in the morning.
I am currently working on my balance.
Our kitchen tiled floor is good for that! I can easily touch a work surface if needed.
I use the floor tiles, walking in a straight line heel to toe, without a crutch now, It’s a bit like walking a tightrope only on the floor surface. When I first began I kept overbalancing!
It is also a good exercise for making sure that I walk in a straight line without a kind of rolling gait,
I took the same amount of time as the class, which was 45 minutes with 3 minutes on each separate excercise as you moved round. The only break was when we moved “stations”.
It is 12 weeks tomorrow since I had the operation, and today was the first time I went to the hospital without my crutch.
I will be keeping them yet for a little bit. I haven’t yet done a longer walk without one of them. It is best to take my time until I’m confident enough for that
Short distances however are fine now.
I am currently sitting on the settee in the back lounge looking through the patio window at the activity on the bird feeders,
There is a whole family of bluetits, and I enjoyed watching their parents feed their young yesterday. The Great Spotted Woodpecker has taken a fancy to the new fatballs and brought one of his brood along yesterday too.
I’ll post a photo of him in extras.
The robins who abandoned their first nest in the Climbing Hydrangea, are exceptionally busy building a new one, back and forth with beaks full of nesting material, like grass and old leaves, and moss.
My yellow roses took a battering in the recent heavy rain but have got new buds.
I feel a little tired now, so I am decamping to my favourite place with a mug of tea and my book!
It is 22C outside with a blustery wind, which has made short work of drying all the washing!
