Amphibious Vehicle
In the suburb I live in there are multiple man-made "lakes" and wetlands. Many of these are filled by storm water and run off. Today, I saw these blokes, Mark and Gary, in the "drink" and was wondering what they were doing so I waited for them to get close to the edge gave them a "cooee" and they were nice enough to come by and answer some of my questions.
They told me they are employed by local councils all over the place from Newcastle to Batemans Bay and just about every where in between. They mainly use the Truxor for dredging to clean out the catchments of silt and excess water weed. Today they were just "skimming" to collect the litter from the water as they had dredged the area only a few months back.. They had in their basket plenty of tennis balls, planter boxes, empty cans and a child's "tonka" truck. I did have to ask the question about what was they strangest thing they had found and to my surprise it was a fully dressed mannequin. The things we waste.
