On Oyster Pond
Elke drove us to Woods Hole to catch the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard. We got there in time to eat yummy sandwiches at a French sandwich shop near the ferry terminal. I picked up tickets and was surprised to learn that blind people ride free and so do their caregivers. Everyone was so nice. We even got a ride to the area where we could pick up our luggage. Lauren was there to meet us and she drove us to her and David’s house. It is gorgeous. Sophie was there and so was David. He went downstairs to work awhile as the rest of us talked. I took photos of their 15 year old cat Asia and their nifty house they finished just a year and a half ago. When David finished work he suggested we take a ride in their boat on Oyster Pond so off we went, David, Sophie, Shelly and I. Lauren was at a class. It was a kick. We saw an osprey catch a fish and enjoyed the lovely weather. When Lauren came home she and Sophie cooked us a late dinner of lamb, salad and potatoes while we chatted. Such a lovely day.
