It's pizza night!
Yesterday's long day is backblipped.
The first evening this year when the bar opened to coincide with pizza night was well attended. Jumpers/jackets were needed, but it was very pleasant.
S had spent the morning working on a house plan following a genius idea he'd had yesterday, which he refused to tell me about until he'd done the plan. We'd had a few minor disagreements about layout earlier, but I was really pleased with this one: it solved a lot of problems while still remaining within a reasonable size (under 100 square metres).
After lunch we went to visit the first guy we'd seen, at the exhibition, when we really didn't know what we were doing. Another two-hour meeting! But it was very satisfying. After we'd discussed the plan and potential difficulties, he cranked up the house design software on his computer and on the fly, with much clicking and dragging, transformed the plan into something workable. It was brilliant: as he worked on the plans we got 360 degree 3D views of what it looked like, he dropped furniture in to check dimensions, and once the layout was done to his satisfaction a few clicks produced a roof. It's a great selling tool too: once it was done, it felt almost as if the house existed. We left feeling very happy with it and him, but let's see what the price tag is ... at one point, he did one click, a dimension changed slightly, and he said "Voilà ! 2000 euros !" It looks easy when it's all virtual ...
