An unexpected day
Having done my shift at the charity shop this morning and expecting a quiet afternoon, I answered a call on my phone to see if I could do a favour for our friend Murdo, who had unexpectedly taken poorly at the medical centre.
Thus, my afternoon was spent at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE) while he underwent a variety of tests including an ECG, CT scan, along with various blood tests.
The car park attendant deserves a special mention, as Murray was so understanding and even let me directly park outside the A&E in a ‘special’ space!
Thankfully, it was good news (just keeping an eye on things and a follow-up GP appointment) and all is well and we were heading home by 7pm. My blip is taken after Murdo had been given the news.
As ever, I cannot commend the NHS high enough. Murdo was seen by at least ten various medical who were all amazing, both being friendly as well as professional. There was not any undue delays and every test undertaken with efficiency and accuracy.
I’m so glad that the NHS is there when it’s needed and worth every penny we pay in tax.
Anyway, not the day I expected, but still ending up as a good day.
