Marking

Today I had my first opportunity for a solid day's marking, so I had to get on with it. That said, at 10:00 I had a call with one of the two MSc students for whom I'll be internal supervisor on their externally supervised dissertation project. I also lost time due to College blocking the School's offer of an enhanced stipend that my incoming industrially-funded PhD student had already accepted. I trod a careful line between expressing outrage and pressing in the right way those in the School who could intervene. It was resolved to my satisfaction, but took up an hour of the day in total. 

Meanwhile my PhD student B was representing HiGHS at the University's "Fast Forward: Climate & Environment" event. This saw the first appearance of the pop-up banner and flyers that И had worked so hard to design last week. I couldn't post a photo from the marking tool "Gradescope" - which I feel is all I've been looking at today - so this is B's photo.
