Shop Keeper

This afternoon I hosted our Tuesday afternoon friends that enjoy photography group.  I took them into Timaru and we walked the  Main Street south end.  I knew this part of town was struggling, but heck I really found it rather depressing with more shops/business closed than there were open.
We came upon this friendly chap, a dapper dresser, who was really interested in us and what we were doing.  We spoke at length about the demise of parts of our town, of the unsociable element (not only the young)...he thought we were a great group of oldies, getting out there doing what we love and not always making "pretty pictures".  I thought he deserved to be my main.  Not only did we walk the footpath, but tended to go down alleys and the back of these shops.....I have put a random selection of our wander in extra, there are lots more and I will get around to making a Flickr album in due course.
We then came back here for refreshments - coffee/tea and orange cake doused with a cream mixed with lemon yohurt.  Lots of chatter and a fun afternoon !
