What a lovely day

I got off to a nice, relaxed start and goofed off much of the day and yet, somehow, 
- finished reviewing/modifying a contract for the new summer research associate
- applied for a business bank account
- announced to the team that we have a LinkedIn page for the company
- added our newest member to the company’s website

And I think I needed the relaxation.

A Ukrainian soldier shot down an Su-25 fighter jet on May 12. He used a shoulder fired weapon. The soldier is a hotshot, he’s shot down four other aircraft and two Shaheed drones. The weapon he used is a Russian-made portable air defense system that uses infrared. In Dec 2024 someone used one to shoot down a Russian cruise missile. The Su-25 pilot survived. 

Sunday and today Russia launched an enormous attack against Ukraine. German Chancellor Meraz said that the West is no longer limiting the range of weapons they supply to Ukraine. Before, Ukraine could only use weapons it made itself to strike deep inside Russia. 

Latvia sent another 1,500 drones to Ukraine. In March, Latvia approved a 10 million euro investment in Ukraine’s drone industry.
