Memorial Day
Our parents on Memorial Day. Jody’s parents, on the left, met while both were in the Air Force during the Korean War, while stationed in Wyoming. My folks on the right, were married one month before Pearl Harbor. My dad went immediately to enlist, but was turned down because of an earlier ruptured ear drum. He built ships in Long Beach, California during the war, and my mom was a “Rosie Riveter” at a Lockheed Air factory in LA. We are proud of their back stories from the Greatest Generation who knew about sacrifice. We miss these four. So many sacrificed then, and I wonder how many now have no idea nor interest. Never forget.
