Little Bee, Little Bird
The wren, one of our smallest birds, was singing lustily from a hawthorn this morning.
I shot the minute, male yellow-faced bee on an ox-eye daisy with difficulty as it was so windy. I think it could be Hylaeus brevicornis as these are very small and my bee has the requisite black and yellow hind legs. Their wings are from 3.5 to 4mm long.
I spent most of the day continuing to sort through MrQ's stuff in our daughter's old bedroom which became his music room/recording studio. I heard a classic plane fly over. I also saw through the window what I think was a Flying Fortress. No chance of getting a shot. I believe it returned and I missed it again. :(
