Spring Bank Holiday Monday

This morning was very cold wind, grey sky and waiting for the rain …

Exactly a month ago we bought a sack of potatoes from Tatws Trading. At this time of the year potatoes are sprouting in readiness for being planted to create this year’s new potatoes, almost half a sackful here so I had a “sort out”, removed all the new growth and they will be fine for another few weeks, those which are small or damaged are to be used first :-))

I also had some potatoes which I’d put to one side for chitting - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chitting - these are now planted in 2 large tubs of compost and may give us new potatoes in a few months time, weather permitting!

Very heavy rain all evening and possibly tomorrow too
