Hike on the alvar
Today it has been a little blip-meet between me and blipper Shelling, who lives on the island. My husband got to join even though he is not a blipper. But here is very common here at blip.
Shelling took us out on a hike on the alvar. It was so beautiful and breathtaking. Yes, I forgot to take a photo of the desolation. The trail was marked with small stone cairns. It was lucky that we had an experienced man who had been here before because I had probably missed the small cairns and gotten lost.
Extras: My husband and Shelling are resting for a while after our fika by the shade of a juniper bush.
Here on the alvar there is a short wall called the map wall that was built to measure and draw a map of the island. With the help of it, you could take out the different directions.
The weather was brilliant; sun and very little wind. No longjohns or wool sweaters were needed today.
