Grand Day Out

A day out for me and Mrs B...to the East Lancs Railway and their Vintage Vibes festival.

Music, beer and steam trains. Well it's my birthday and I like all 3.

Sadly, the steam engine failed, and so was replaced by a diesel. They do have others but only City of Wells has a spark catcher, and with recent weather the other engines had been causing quite a few lineside fires.

There was no issue with the supply of beer and music though.

Highlight was however having a 1 car DMU entirely to ourselves on the shuttle run back to Heywood.
