The Missing Link
It was wild up on the moors this morning, the wind slapped the water into our faces. It was a challenging swim, but exhilarating. We certainly deserved our breakfast in Delph.
I knocked on my neighbour’s door to see if she fancied a little jaunt….she did. We went to Astley to the mining museum. When I’d suggested it she laughed and said we’d probably be the only ones there. She was wrong, it was really busy. It is always great to see small places that are run by volunteers supported so well. There were some vintage cars, the huge machine that drove the lift down the pit was running and there was a little train.
The shaft down the pit was as deep as four Blackpool Towers. The huge machine was incredible to watch. I loved it. When we went outside there was a little train which I got a couple of tickets for so that Kathryn had no choice. We had a laugh and the sun shone.
We decided to stop off at the RHS on the way home for a cuppa and a scone. Tracey joined us and we had a good old chinwag.
