Royal Observatory
Such excitement last night. The whole Weegie family gathered to watch the Scotland vs England football game (3-2 to England unfortunately) - but it was an exciting match.
With a house full of girls, there's not many football games shown on our telly. But now they all want to go to football games! I had a lump in my throat when I thought of old Scotland games, my dad shouting at the telly, my mum listening from the kitchen. A wee 'half' would be poured and we were given crisps and juice - even on a school night.
I hope they do it again soon. It was lovely to see the supporters at the game with their children, especially as English supporters abroad seem to have a bit of a bad name. This is how it should be (albeit would have been better if we had won - obviously!)
Two days back at school and the children are exhausted and grumpy - and their new shoes hurt !
I escaped to find a blip tonight (9pm!) and ended up at the (new) Royal Observatory on Blackford Hill. Built in 1894 to replace the one on Carlton Hill.
Must bring the kids up here !
