Lift In...

Time to get the boat in the water.  The outdrives were serviced and corroded seacocks replaced yesterday, so she's good to go. New radio and navigation equipment are in place too, and I've done a ton of work on other miscellaneous things.

These boat cranes are fantastic.  Operated by one person with a wireless remote control, it can drive up, scoop the boat up in slings, drive into the water, and lower it in!  It's a strange experience driving into the sea standing on the little platform, then climbing onto the boat to drive off...

It's about 8 weeks since I tried this boat out on a speed restricted river.  After getting in the water I was able to give her a brief run at speed outside the marina before the guys helping with the lift in could get round to my berth to help me tie up.

I hope that once I'm used to the boat I'll be able to get into the berth single handed, but not confident for that yet!
