1980 NannaK “ Square Rigger” Sail Painting

As a young girl, NannaK sailed with Irving Johnson on the Brigantine Yankee, built as a Gaff rigged schooner, out of Gloucester, Mass. I think of her climbing in the rigging, with Irving and his wife, Exy, watching from the deck. This painting stays in the family, with son Eric. I kept a few of our wall-mounted plate collection in the photo to honor my Scandinavian, Aunt Marie,
NannaK. (HCB)
