What an incredible day
The day we visited Julia and had a tour of RAF College Cranwell. What a day it has been. Taken so many photographs that I just couldn't choose what to make as the main Blip so put in some extras, including collages!
The main blip is me with the twins and the main college building behind us.
in the extras there's the grand gates with, again, the college in the background. The twins performing before a presentation began! Bella practicing with a gun (real but one that's use for drill so cannot be cocked) and the entrance hall into the college. That rug is worth around £60,000 and officer cadets are not allowed to walk on it until their graduation day as their studded boots would rip it to pieces!.
Another with Julia and the twins, Julia and a few of the other cadets giving a display of drill and the actual desk of Air Chief Marshall Sir 'Bomber' Harris, which is quite poignant to me as my first posting, after training, was to HQ Bomber Command in 1966 to 1968.
Couldn't begin to touch on everything we learned about the place but it was a fascinating day from start to finish. It was also great to meet the people who are looking after the officer cadets, including Julia of course, and training them to be efficient officers but also caring and understanding of those in their charge.
