Peony buds

I have been waiting very impatiently and anxiously for this peony bud to open! I have had the plant for two years and this is the nearest I have got to an open bloom. It’s a Coral Charm, with amazing colour changing petals, and it was really rather an expensive treat! The first year, the frost knocked it back. The second year, no bud….maybe this time f I hold my breath a little longer? I am sure the welcome rain will help to expand it, and it also has some ants working to keep the sticky nectar cleaned off the petals, so all set!
I do have another peony now opening, a delicious pink one!
